You know something that I'm really hopeful about?

- my school is giving a serious look at their trips program re: the amount of carbon emissions involved in the plane flights, and whether the value gained from said trips are worth the environmental cost
- everywhere I go I see people with water bottles and reusable bags and compostable cups
- San Francisco airport no longer sells bottled water
- there's actually a lot of investment funds out there that are light on fossil-fuels
- my personal rule of "only buy a boba if you remember to bring a cup, only get take-out if you show up with a tupperware" has been surprisingly doable and has basically eliminated single-use plastics from my life

Does SF Airport have water fountains, though? I think reducing overall access to water might have some undesirable effects.

I'm very fussy about my water and would not be happy about not begin able buy water I'm willing to drink after passing through security. I agree we need to reduce plastic as much as possible, but there is a place for it. I use a thermos and keep a Put pitcher in the fridge at work, for example, and have a fridge filter at home. At the airport, I can't take my own thermos through security. So that's a short sighed fail on their part. I agree we need to all do what we can. Reducing trips if a skype call will suffice is a good thing.
