I'll write something more coherent later, but overall: disappointing, but salvageable

- It should have been Clint. You could have done a thing about what he's willing to sacrifice to get them back, and have it mirror Tony's sacrifice
- Everything's so piecemeal I hate it. At least Infinity war had team dynamics? Whereas here -- it's just all single people or duos. :/
- Tony basically does nothing in the first half of the movie?!!
- Dear Marvel, please work to improve your fight scenes. This may be me spoiled by martial arts films, but I can literally set a watch to these fight scenes. Ah yes, you win 3 punches, and then he beats you for 2 kicks, and then a different person comes in.
- I definitely cheered when all the people showed up, Avengers Assemble, etc. Wish he'd yelled it, though, instead of the mumbling
- Wish there was Tony/Steve resolution, wtf. Tony yells at Steve, passes out, and then basically ragequits????
- Ah yes, apparently drinking beer and trying to not think about your self-perceived failure to your people and the death of your family and half your people -- makes you an incompetent fool that no one can take seriously. ::EYEROLL:: like, Thor's humor has never before been grounded in incompetence and cowardice, WTF.
- My only solace for the ending is the fact that (a) Bucky knew, and (b) they can easily de-age someone.
- Yay for Wanda almost beating Thanos.
- The "all the girls charge forward" shot was exciting at first, and then soured when I realized they were literally just putting all the women of Marvel in that one shot. The goal is to punch through all the army. (a) Carol could have just done that by herself, and (b) how is Mantis suppose to help with this one? I'd rather see her put one of the space whales to sleep instead of being there for the ladies shot. :/ Just give me Carol, Wanda, Pepper, a couple of the Wakanda heavy hitters, and Hulk. Russos, this is the 2nd time you did the whole "girls get their own fight" thing. ://///
- I really enjoyed the Battle of Manhattan cleanup scenes, with HYDRA coming in to nab stuff. The elevator scene: O. M. G.
- I enjoyed most of the time heist, except for how disjointed the scene cuts were. Give the viewers some room to readjust, man.
- I really enjoyed the Frigga convo (yey) and, somewhat less so, the Howard/Tony convo.
- (yes, yes, we get it, you're doing this whole parent/child thing, but unlike the "we don't trade lives" theme of Infinity War, this parent/child theme does disservice to half the cast. :////)
- At least there's the bit where Bruce tells Steve that he tried really hard to bring Nat back. But also: if past!Gamora can travel to the future and stay in the future, then can't they get past!Natasha or something?
- Also pissed about how the Avengers basically did nothing for 5 years? Leaving Nat to basically hold everything together. Like, I watch superhero movies to watch people who care about the world DO something about it. Tony and Pepper could have been rebuilding the world instead of hiding in a mountain retreat. Steve could have been helping coordinate governments instead of just leading support groups. (Not to mention the VERY IDEA of Steve sitting on his hands in the past instead of doing something about it. I mean, Steve's the kind of guy who would mention that Bucky is alive to his own self b/c he's so excited about it -- he's not going to just sit around watching HYDRA infiltrate into Peggy's SHIELD. The only way I can see this happening is if Bucky fucking threatened him. Like, "if you don't let history run its course, then fucking pop back because otherwise you're not getting to kiss both Pegs and me")
- (Let's not get into Clint and the Problematic Japanese Swordfight)
- What's with Pepper always having to wait in line to talk to Tony? First it's Steve and then it's Peter.

Overall, people whose arcs got shafted: Nat, Thor, Steve
People who I wish were in the movie more: Sam, Bucky, T'Challa, Shuri (Shuri should have had some shielding gadget to block the river or smth -- shouldn't have just been her fighting)

All good points!

At that "all the girls charge forward" shot I whispered to my friend: That does not make up for killing Natasha.

Agree with all of these points - I found IW really impressive because it was tightly edited but this was just a mess all over the place, like they spliced together four different versions of the script somehow. I hated the "Clint is a white samurai" thing, barf. I hated the the band-aid "women of Marvel" shot which doesn't do anything to make up for Natasha's death, and it should have been Clint. The entire battle is just messy? Agreed that the "lol we're gonna hide in the mountains" thing was so OOC. It especially bothered me about Pepper - she's the CEO of SI, you'd think they'd be running humanitarian efforts or something?! At least Tony was shown still working. Sort of.

I was overall disappointed as well and I was furious about Steve's ending and characterization as well as Natasha's ending - but I guess that's what fanfiction is for...

Dear Marvel, please work to improve your fight scenes.

This! I have also been spoiled by martial arts films, and I was totally thinking this. Hollywood learned all the wrong lessons from HK films in the '90s, and it never fails to make me angry.

I'm also furious about Steve's ending and the sidelining of Bucky, and now very, very fearful that they're going to muck up Sam & Bucky's TV show as well.

And I can't help but think that the whole thing would have been soooo much better if they'd given the script to a few fan writers to point out plot holes and OOC issues and the character moments we were really waiting for. (I honestly would have been stupidly grateful for, like, 30 seconds of a real conversation between Steve and Bucky.)

::sigh::
