potofsoupAs per usual, I just went through and answered questions that I felt like answering.
1. favorite fic you wrote this year
Hmm... I think it's the recovery fic where Bucky learns that his consent is important just by having Steve respect his opinions on things like pizza and jogging paths and tv programming
2. least favorite fic you wrote this year
The ABO one, because wow, that trope is not something that comes naturally to me -- I kept forgetting about scenting and all the other secondary traits.
3. favorite line/scene you wrote this year
I chuckled when I wrote this line: "When he first drags his eyes to meet the visual receptors of the robot servant who cleans the common room, he is not reprimanded."
And I really liked writing the moment where Bucky sits outside Steve and Sam's room and keeps vigil.
4. total number of words you wrote this year
words: 65796+4446= 70,242
fan comics: 1 + 17 = 18 pages
orig comics: 2 (rutabaga) + 11 (american son) + 8 (climate hope) = 21 pages
plus a bunch of pics for various fics, etc.
5. most popular fic this year
15 Minutes clocks in at 2.5k hits on AO3! ::surprised pikachu face::
6. least popular fic this year
the Vesemir one with intergenerational Witcher trauma comes in at 125 hits. (but the kudos ratio is pretty high -- 32 kudos)
7. longest completed fic you wrote this year
I suck at writing long stuff! All in Hand is 7550, and probably still a bit short
8. shortest completed fic you wrote this year
Not counting comics and pics, where sometimes I write a hundred words or so of flavor text, probably the Vesemir one, at 541 words.
12. favorite character to write about this year
Still Bucky, although I think it'd be fun to write Jaskier
14. a fic you didn’t expect to write
The Vesemir one -- it just popped out of me in like, an hour. Weird.
15. something you learned this year
I can move a paragraph from the beginning of the fic to the end of the fic where it'd work better! And I can write the core beats of the scene and then completely change the setting for it to work better! (These are things that are pretty much impossible to do in comic form, lol) Also, if I'm having trouble with writing what happens next, chances are that I've given the characters the wrong plot point earlier -- instead of following Steve, run away, and suddenly the rest of the fic flows! :D
18. current number of wips
14! A few are OLD as in "I made this sticky in 2017", and a few I probably won't finish, so in terms of active WIPs, probably 3-5?
21. most memorable comment/review
There's a few that's like "this is usually a squick but somehow you made it work", which made me really happy. I also left a gushing comment on one of gremble's fics, and now I get to beta-read his Witcher wip, which has been An Excellent Turn of Events.
22. events you participated in this year
Just the mcukb and the STS. I think I forgot to sign up for the next mcukb because I've just been on DW and missed the signups? And I think Samsteve Small Gifts isn't running this year, so no winter SamSteve fic for me XD;;;
24. favorite fic you read this year
I think it has to be ask me tomorrow. Just... so good. (The premise is that Jaskier lives life backwards. I read it to my roadtrip buddy, who didn't know Witcher at all, and it mostly worked -- I had to explain that Plot Happens in the interstitials, but god, what a good.)
I've also been enjoying coffeemage's In the Company of a Glacier, where Jaskier just had a really cool "performative nobility" moment! :D

thepartyresponsible had a great Whumptober run. They can make any pairing make sense, it's amazing. I don't even do batfam but now I have too many feelings about Jason Todd
In Witcher stuff this year, I've really enjoyed fics by kathkin, Emamel, Castillon02, the undiagnosable, and spqr

As a rule I don't read things more than 50k, unless it's an updating wip that was <20k when I started.
