Pursuant to my Cap comic this year, I'm trying to think of some things I can do to normalize climate-saving behavior and also bring it into the workplace.

- embed normalized descriptions into fanfics (people bringing reusable cups into the coffeeshop au, putting a hard limit of 5 minutes on that shower scene, Steve being appalled by all the stuff that gets thrown away, etc)

- I just sorted all of my tupperware, and found some containers that are the right size for getting take-out from nearby restaurants. I won't be able to call ahead, but I can afford the 15 minute wait

- I'm going to get Hoosband to bring some of these containers to his work -- a lot of people there get take-out lunches nearby, and maybe they can use these containers instead of getting a new one every time (I'll make some "Reusable, don't throw away!" stickers to put on them)

- I'm going to bring some spare reusable cups whenever I go to the comics meetup, so that other people in our group can use it to buy boba

- I should look at the cost of getting an electrical outlet out to my parking space in our complex so that I can plug in the car. If our HOA won't do it, maybe I can.

- I should look to see if Vanguard has funds that are clearly non-fossil-fuels. And if not -- maybe ask them??

- Schedule a talk with Powers That Be at work about:
---- at the very least, buying carbon offsets for all trips
---- using actually compostable cups instead of the "biodegradable" stuff that isn't actually compostable, or, better yet, not having them at all, and instead have a bunch of reusable cups and mugs
---- making sure that the school is divested from fossil fuels
---- adding more electrical chargers / outlets in the garage
---- getting the kids to take Meatless Mondays seriously (and offer up actually tasty non-meat foods)
---- a better system for reusing printed paper (maybe as scratch paper or art paper for the elementary school kids? Or maybe have a printer that is just paper that's only been printed on one side?)

- Get Hoosband to talk to his work about:
---- having the company mandate 1 work-from-home day per week to reduce transit-related emissions
---- giving either a time or monetary subsidy for people who take public transit to work (less hours at work or more $$)
---- getting their Friday lunch catering in a more sustainable format

Any other thoughts/suggestions?

I'm kind of a mono-fandom type of person, but...

I recently binged on all 4 seasons of Lucifer while drawing, which, as far as b-rated crime procedurals go, is actually pretty good? Sure, I can still spot the real murder by about 10 minutes into the episode, but:
- So far there has been 4 angels and 3 of them are poc, which is actually a higher ratio than Good Omens, and the main character angel is black
- It's surprisingly wholesome? After establishing the characters in season 1, season 2 is about messed up family dynamics, season 3 is about taking responsibility for your own actions and respecting other people's decisions, and season 4 is about being true to yourself, whatever that may be.
- When Eve was introduced as a rival love interest in season 4, I was like "oh this is going to crash and burn", but... it surprisingly didn't? She's portrayed as a vivacious woman who was tired of being trapped in an arranged marriage with Adam, and ends up having her own personal arc!

Anyways, I'm not going to be hopping fandoms or anything, but it's on Netflix and a decent "watch-while-doing-something-else" sort of show.

Okay, here's some:

1) Currently subscribed to: Solitary (78059 words) by [archiveofourown.org profile] exclamation -- it updates weekly and it's got great identity stuff (at first Steve doesn't know that the WS is Bucky), plus some great plot (it's 2012, and Rumlow is guarding the SHIELD cell that contains a captured Winter Soldier). I'm also subscribed to Standard Deviation (6565 words) by tajargirl, which hasn't updated in a while, but it's May Parker/Olivia Octavius as rivals/roommates when they were in college together and it's glorious

2) I love reading Pre-War fics where the world feels SO REAL, which speaks to both a shit-ton of research, and also an ability to not info-dump. you go to my head by [archiveofourown.org profile] brideofquiet with lovely art by [archiveofourown.org profile] alby_mangroves is one where Bucky discovers that Steve is a sex worker and also that he might have feelings.
The Kinder Thing (27474 words) by [archiveofourown.org profile] stele3 is one where WS and Steve don't really know each other, but then Steve gets sent back in time on a mission and meets Bucky Barnes.

3) I have a major soft spot for a Bucky that has gone through all of the Winter Soldier identity loss and dehumanization, come out the other side, and manage to cobble together a life out of nothing, by sheer force of will. He has that little run-down room with a few well-loved books and some scavenged small comforts, but he's still in survival mode. Then he meets Steve. Scents and Sensibility does that, Necrofloranomicon does that, and most recently, The Boy With The Thorn In His Side (21980 words) by [archiveofourown.org profile] BetteNoire does that.

5 RBB fics that I enjoyed that have surprisingly few hits )
