1. airplane
I dread plane flights rn because it's basically "me and Hoosband are trapped in a small space with an overactive toddler for x hours and you can't be loud." A recent trip to Portland wasn't bad, b/c it was only 1.5 hours, but around Christmas it was a trip to Connecticut, which was 10 hours if you include the layover. Next up is a trip to Chicago, which is 4 hours. And possibly a trip to Shanghai in the winter???
Back in the pre-child times, plane flights are pretty chill b/c it's a lot of work time + movie time + decent noms if you're flying international.
2. stanza
I was at an admissions activity session where the students had to read a poem and discuss it, and I could not for the life of me remember the word "stanza". Later some other student said it and I was like "holy shit you are better at this stuff than I am." Well, I said it in my head, and also: I've got years more experience with the actual analysis of said stanza.
3. haircut
My favorite haircut was the one from when I was little and I had a boy cut b/c my mom didn't know how to cut it any other way. From 3rd-6th grade, I looked like a boy and it was great! I got to make friends with all the boys and for the majority of 6th grade people just assumed that I was a boy. There was a moment in March where the teacher referred to me as "she" and the whole class was "whaaa?" And then I didn't get to be friends with the boys anymore. :(
Me in 4th grade:

To be fair, for the elementary school bit, I was kind of oblivious about it because I've always had short hair??? and short hair on a girl was much more common in China at the time???
Anyway, starting 7th grade, my hair started getting wavy and my mom learned how to layer hair, so I had a chin-length bob, and then high school + college was just a straight-up ponytail.
Then one summer I went to Shanghai and my family there was like "ugh you have too much hair, go and cut it, it'd look a lot cleaner". So then I went to a barber, who cut it really short, and it ... FLOOFED. I HATED IT. My head looked the wrong shape.
Here's a frustrated pic I drew at the time:

The unexpected happy result, however, is that 3 months later, it got back down to chin length, my hair did this fun flippy-out thing that I really liked. So now 3 times a year, I go to a hair person, and I tell them to cut it layered so that the outside is shorter.
